STRING combines the advantages of different classical visualization methods. The software combines the calculation of transient water flow with an appealing animation process based on associated trajectories. The temporal changes of a vector field are represented by particles that move with the field. In order to visualize the course of the flow even more accurately, the movement history of each particle is drawn in the form of a trail. This provides a clear description of the direction, course, velocity, and temporal evolution of the flow.
